International Secure Systems Development Conference

For several years more and more has been spent on securing business environments from what can essentially be tracked back to vulnerabilities in code. To meet the demands of patching up holes created by bad coding practices bigger and better hardware and software products are created, often using the same bad coding practices that created the first set of vulnerabilities

Further, every day we hear reports of vulnerabilities in operating systems, applications, utilities, browsers, web applications, security products, etc. etc. and although this has happened for years, each year security vendors come along displaying the latest technologies that are going to protect the enterprise. The one group of products that has been missing is the range of products that would help reduce the vulnerabilities which later require remediatory actions. The question is why isn’t more being done to reduce vulnerabilities before a product reaches the market, since it costs less to make sure it’s not there than it does to fix it later.

The International Secure Systems Development Conference is being run to change this balance of emphasis by vendors, system developers, and security solution purchases away from focusing on securing insecure infrastructure to focussing on purchasing and developing secure systems that have developed using secure development approaches which can be verified

Aim:

To bring together the key groups of people who need to be involved in creating the right environment for developing secure systems within an organisation. To facilitate this the conference will offer appropriate streams that would enable the right people from across an organisation to get together and  create the strategy that would ensure that  they are setting the example to their suppliers, competitors and customers that their organisation takes security seriously enough to build security into the organisation as well as into its products and services
